Welcome to the CVCN
Mccourt-sm

We are the Center for Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience (CVCN), an NDSU research center devoted to increasing our understanding of the ways that information is processed by the brain. Sponsored by a Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant (P20 GM103505) from the National Institute for General Medical Sciences, a division of the National Institutes of Health, the CVCN has stimulated and supported research, outreach and instruction concerning visual and cognitive neuroscience at NDSU since 2004.

The NDSU CVCN is committed to expanding support for and sustaining high-quality research in the areas of visual and cognitive neuroscience.

By recruiting talented new faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students, assembling a superb and dedicated technical support team, and by inviting world-class authorities in the fields of visual and cognitive sciences to assist us as consultants and expert mentors on our research projects, we ensure that our research efforts are given the very best chance to succeed.

To enhance our ability to conduct research we have constructed several dedicated core laboratory facilities for driving simulation, high density EEG, eye tracking and immersive virtual reality. These laboratories allow our faculty and students to fruitfully explore the relationships between the nervous system and the behavior that it governs.
